I bought 2 pair of Snowfeet to introduce my daughter to skiing and get back into it myself. We went to nearby slopes mostly used by beginners and had a blast. Some highlights and observations:
1. We strapped the skis onto our comfortable Winter boots and were ready to hit the slopes within minutes. No rental fees or ill-fitting ski-boots.
2. We could maneuver quickly through crowds of people moving awkwardly in skis and snowboards. The Snowfeet are really a nifty combination of ski, snow-shoe, and ice skate so mobility on the flats is excellent and kind of fun.
3. Learn to turn. You can reach pretty high speeds if you barrel straight down so we took a bunch of runs on the bunny slope playing "follow the leader" and making turns which helped with controlling speed. Shifting weight to your heels also slows you down some but ultimately we'll probably both have to learn hockey stops for quick deceleration.
4. We received positive comments and questions from quite a few skiers and snowboarders.
5. Invest in a block of ski wax to keep you Snowfeet nice and slippery.
All in all I felt like the Snowfeet offered a great way to quickly access the slopes with all the gear for 2 including helmets fitting in a large backpack. The learning curve for my 9 year old was very quick and I think you can expect the same if you have some prior experience skiing or ice skating and ease into it on bunny slopes. I am looking forward to exploring whether Snowfeet can also handle terrain for snow-shoeing or cross-country skiing (probably with poles). I think as long as you have some packed snow (powder would be tricky for downhill) then they should work. They are a fun and versatile new way to enjoy alpine sports!

I haven't been on skis since the late 80s or early 90s and after about 15 or 20 minutes of looking ridiculous, I was able to make it down a sledding hill without falling. It was a fun challenge and a great workout! I can't wait to keep improving.
